You might be familiar with the term 'detail' but 'paint correction' might be new to you. What is the difference? An auto detail is a simple car wash with more in-depth cleaning of your interior and exterior without the use of any machinery. Paint correction is the process of spending close to 14 man hours buffing and polishing your existing paint in order to present the fresh new paint beneath the layers that have suffered the oxidation and damage. This process requires multiple steps that must be followed by an experience professional in order to have a quality outcome. You might be use to paying quarterly or annually to buff swirls and scratches out of your vehicle. But, you shouldn't need too. In fact, polishing your vehicle too often can result in faster ware and tear to your factory clear coat. Every time you decide to polish your paint to bring back the shine you once had, you are literally shaving a fine layer of your clear coat. Eventually, you are left with only a few layers that have weaker uv resistance than the first couple layers from the factory. The result is now a vehicle paint that can only last a few months before scratching and oxidizing faster than ever before.
